mission objective

The mission of team OG

With the funds raised, Team Ocean Grown has created the Bridges Over Water grant fund to finance young adults who aged out of the foster care system to pursue careers in the maritime sector.

Applicants will receive funding for courses and education, benefit from the incredible LegaSea mentorship program for ongoing job counseling support and be eligible for industry job placements.

Changing Lives Through Maritime Education

Young adults who age out of foster care systems are exceptionally vulnerable to high rates of homelessness, incarceration, teen pregnancy, and lifelong reliance on the welfare system. The Bridges Over Water program can help prevent these destructive cycles of poverty, and provide many tools for success to its recipients.
